SIDC's mission is to support education, foster creative growth and technical development, inspire passion for design and empower students to achieve their goals. By doing so, we can help students make the most of their experience here at Saddleback and in the professional world of Interior Design.
Involvement in student programs offered by ASID, IIDA, NCIDQ, USGBC, and NEWH greatly enhances the learning experience and we encourage students to involve themselves in and learn from these valuable resources. We also support the opportunity to give back to the community by involving ourselves in various charity endevores. We can truely make a difference, and we are dedicated to this very important goal!
By providing valuable, vast resources and information on an array of design related topics, promoting exposure to professional experiences and volunteer opportunities, we can achieve the goal of enhancing student's potential for success!
Program Goals
Program Goal 1: Communicate the value of industry affiliation
By getting involved with industry organizations, the student opens a door of opportunity through networking with experienced designers who can help students forge a path for their own successes.
Program Goal 2: Provide and promote opportunities and incentives for active participation by all members
By providing students with incentives such as resource materials, informative guest speakers and industry affiliations, we hope to encourage active participation in the Saddleback Design program and thereby giving the student a baseline of knowledge to prepare them for a successful transition into the Design workforce.
Program Goal 3: Prepare the student for integration into the Design world after graduation
Since we focus largely on education and participation in networking functions and opportunities, the student, through their involvement with this club and its activities will be better prepared and feel comfortable making the transition from student to professional in the Interior Design field.
